Meridiems

1. How long has Meridiems been together and how did it happen?

The band has been in existence for over a year. However, the both of us have been friends since we were in grade school.

2. Who are your biggest musical influences?

Clint Mansell, Sigur Ros, Godspeed You! Black Emperor

3. Who came up with the band name, what does it mean, and can you share some of the rejected names?

We both collectively came up with the name. We wanted something that didn't have any previous attachments or cited any certain feeling from the word/words themselves.

4. What does the future hold for Meridiems?

We are in the midst of recording our first release and in the works of planning a tour for winter 08.

5. You are performing at Music City Mayhem III at Exit/In on 6/14/08. What does it mean to you to be performing at this show and what can people expect to see from your performance?

We're really excited to be a part of this. As far as expectations, it's best to come into the experience with none. Every performance allows an individual interpretation in which no one person internalizes the show in the same way. It's the magic of playing live music.
