an Ariatic Silence was born in November of 2005 when Greg Young, former vocalist/guitarist for the Nashville group Ryonen, along with the group's bassist, joined forces with former Burden of Wings guitarist Jerry Darnell and innovative percussionist Ryon Hoard to create a musical synergy the likes of which none of them had ever experienced. "The first time we played together, I knew we were meant to make great music," recalls Young of their first practice. "It just felt right, which is something I hadn't been able to say in quite a while." Since its conception, the group has been hard at work creating a sound that transcends the boundaries of genre and the limitations of conventional music, reflecting their collective diversity of taste. They have spent a busy 2006 recording their independently produced EP, The Seismic Lullaby, and turning heads all over the Nashville area with their highly charged stage presence and tight performances, which have earned them a spot in the MySpace Battle of the Bands semi-finals (to be held in early 2007), as well as an advancement in the worldwide Emergenza Battle of the Bands. With the recent addition of a new bassist, long-time friend and veteran to the Nashville scene, Allen Eason, the group is ready to help bring a new breed of rock to the streets...ready to help unite listeners from any and all genres...ready to help create real and lasting change...ready to join a revolution that extends far beyond the music industry and into the very fabric of our lives. Keep all ears and eyes wide open...

. . . . . . . .

And now a word...

Great art just IS...because it comes straight from the heart...not from the brain. A million dollar promotional campaign and a great stylist do not make a better artist. This seemingly endless recycling of cookie-cutter imagery and bubblegum angst exists only to distract us from the harsh realities lurking below the surface. The people are beginning to realize this, which is part of the reason we have seen such a merciless revolt in recent years in the form of piracy, etc. But the establishment seems to have a learning disability...perhaps a phobia...and so the revolution continues.

an Ariatic Silence aims to do its part to shift the paradigm, not only within the music industry, but in the broader sociopolitical arena as well. As citizens of this great nation, and of this world, it is our collective duty to question those in authority, both in Washington and across all social strata, and to challenge those ideals and policies that do more harm than good to our fellow human beings. Our differences lend to division across all kinds of imaginary lines, but when embraced, these very same differences can become our greatest weapon against this vast web of deception aimed at snaring us like insects and draining every ounce of human spirit from our souls.

We support one policy: that of unconditional love and commonwealth for all human beings without regard for faith, social class or ethnic background. We follow no regime, no glass-house scene, no savior, and no crown.
