I have been meaning to get to this show review for weeks now, as it has already been almost two months since the SnoCore Tour blew through town, and set the record straight. I've been a loyal and humble fan of Seether's from the beginning. What a start it has been for this South African born band put through today's paces of Rock and Roll. I saw in Morgan (vocal's), what the rest of the world was seeing. Shaun, I thought your lyrics were amazing and now after hearing you sing them a million times, I absolutely fall over myself trying to match his range. In my opinion, Morgan has the chops to deliver the heavy, industrial tones this music demands, as well as composition skills to be compared with the likes of Chris Cornell. I know, a BOLD statement, but Cornell is this angel's mentor so I feel comfortable with this declaration. I can feel it in his fever on stage. I can see it in his eyes. I've watched him go up and down with his appearance and struggle through controversy of being a band known for what was the name of that hit? Yes, we all know it was "Broken". Morgan has proven that this huge hit will NOT be what he is known forever for. Karma and Effect is well done. I cannot get enough of this album. Far above my expectations and hopes, this album is fucking tough. I want to make sure to mention the video's made for hit songs, "Remedy" and "Truth", both brilliantly produced. I love the imagery and story lines. Such freaky, ironic, creep you the fuck out, video production. My hat is off to this crew.

The history of this soon to be legendary band is somewhat different from most. Disclaimer was released in 2002, as Seether hit the road with over three hundred shows alone that year. In 2003, Disclaimer went Gold. A European tour ensued most of 2004. Then, things just got crazy. With the release of top hit movie, "The Punisher", "Broken" broke with groundbreaking speed in the charts. BillBoard's Top 10 demand was so high that Seether went back into the studio and revised the Disclaimer, released Disclaimer 11. This my readers was the first time a debut album EVER went Gold twice
With the much anticipated wait of creating a new album and jamming some new songs, Seether went through a lineup change. The boys realized now that they had to step up to the plate every single time and do it better then the guys before them. Morgan grabbed the right boys when choosing John Humphrey (Drums) and Dale Stewart (Bass) to fit the bill. You cannot help but to keep your eyes on Morgan, as he has a unique stage presence. After seeing the last four shows that Seether has played in the Los Angles area in the last few years, the performance given by Morgan is always quite interesting. You can tell he has a mood swing kind of personality, as well as the sweetness that makes him the artist that he is. Morgan holds his own, so to even grab the attention of the fans these boys started hitting it hard. Going to a rock concert from my perspective is this. I want to see a band with some energy. I want to dance my ass off while seeing the band have just as good of a time. My point being, all four members of this knock you on your ass band have what it takes to achieve the status they are in. I've got many, many, many favorite bands and artists out there in all genres of music, and if you throw them all together, based on talent and potential alone, Seether is in my top five. Simply, mind blowing chemistry.

Truth be told, this night for me was about both bands. I've seen Shinedown just as many times as Seether when they buzz through Los Angeles, but never had an opportunity to shoot them. I have been a fan of Shinedown's from the minute I heard "45" off debut album Leave A Whisper. Brent Smith is a vocally and lyrically talented young man. I have heard some boys sing in my time, but what this man's voice does to me is indescribable. And since we are not an X rated webzine here, I will keep it PG rated and let you think about this one. And while your thinking, put on some Shinedown. IF there is one person out there that can argue the fact with me that this band is going to the Top, then bring it on! Brent and company are another one of the hard hitting, never say die, tour crazy, determined bands. Leaving me breathless at every show and left standing with my mouth open after hearing him sing. A little too wordy on the first tour, Smith has seemed to tone that down on this tour with Seether, HaleStorm, and FlyLeaf. More vocals, and less chit-chat was much appreciated. And the dedication to DimeBag as well as Seether's brought a tear to my eye.Shinedown songs played:"Burning Bright""I Dare You""Forty Five""Simple Man" (Dimebag tribute)"Save Me""Lie From the Inside""Left Out"
SnoCore 2006, in this Angel's eyes, picked four of the best bands in overall compatibility. Morgan even brought up HaleStorm vocalist, Lizzy Hale to do a rendition of "Broken". Gotta say it, "Lizzy did a version that stands on it's own in respect to Evenescence vocalist, Amy Lee. What a great night of music and fun. The Avalon Theater is now one of my favorite venues as the lighting and staff were well appreciated. Special thanks to Julie Camp at Wind-Up Records Wind-Up Records for all your assistance. I saw what you did for me on the Seether website, and you know I appreciate it.Thank you to Seether for always lending me their beautiful faces to put on film and appreciation of what I do. You never cease to stop blowing me away with amazing concert performance, sound, and music. There will always be a Special place in my heart for these boys.
