The Breakfast Club is the big daddy of retro rock here in the Southeast.These days 80s rock is an easy sell for all it's kitch and nostalgia .This was not the case in the early 90s when The Breakfast Club was formed.To say that they single handedly started the 80s cover band revival is a bit of an overstatement....but to say that they set the bar and are the standard to which all others are measured by is not an overstatement.
I had inside Breakfast Club information by proxy to Riq Lazarus ( http://www.myspace.com/kungpowlive)and Rich Leverone http://www.myspace.com/fabd both of whom were in the band for a number of years, both of whom I play with occasionally.Most of this information is inappropriate to publish but some of it was helpful with the interview.I dropped by soundcheck for a quick interview at The Exit / In the last time they were in town.I found the band to be professional,informative, and matter of fact.It was curious that there were posters at the club promoting "Slippery When Wet" (another 80s retro act) but no posters of The Breakfast Club on the walls (...they were just sittin around in the office).I normally prefer to limit my audio interviews to two people so that you (the listener) can easily distinguish who is speaking.We got all four peeps this time; so that you know who is saying what, this is what the lineup is :

Jerry Finley: drums, vocals (closest in proximity to the mic. and primary spokesman)
Steve Campbell: bass, vocals (dude with the scottish accent)
Mike Mundy: keyboards, vocals (representing the redneck contingency)
DavayRay: guitar, vocals (fartherest in proximity to the mic.)
